| MISSING IN MEXICO |
| Author Stuart Gustafson has written a full-length mystery novel that is bound to set a new standard for stories that involve intrigue combined with tourism. And as America's International Travel Expert, he is just the right person to do it. MISSING IN MEXICO is that book, and he is looking forward to an international book launch in Spring or Fall of 2010. Jose del Cabo, Mexico would be an ideal vacation for them and their nineteen year- old daughter Sarah, who brought along her college roommate Mary. The parents fly back to Seattle on New Years Day, leaving the two college freshmen to enjoy the last five days of their winter break from the University of Washington. Mary boards the plane for the non-stop flight from Los Cabos to Seattle, but Sarah darts back into the terminal at the last minute, and no one has heard from her. The Johnsons hire Private Investigator Stan Walkorski to find Sarah, an assignment that becomes much more difficult once he realizes that Sarah is very bright and self- sufficient -- two facts that lead him to say that he might not be able to find her if she doesn't want to be found. The trail runs warm and then cold as the few leads he has in San Jose del Cabo don't go very far. A new acquaintance helps him, but they can only uncover just so much. Two trips to Los Cabos and two months' after her disappearance, Stan returns to Seattle to tell Sarah's parents that he can't find her. Another two months go by when Stan receives a mysterious letter from Mexico with an offer to help find Sarah, but there are "crazy instructions" that Stan must follow. He's skeptical, but he's also willing to go back to Los Cabos one more time; he is emotionally involved in the case, and he does want to find Sarah. Will this be the break he needs? The full-length mystery novel incorporates some of the local charm and language into the story, thus enhancing the story's interest and readability. If you like to travel, this book just might make you want to travel to the town of San Jose del Cabo at the tip of Mexico's Baja California. |
